Is #2 really a win???
I believe it is - and not just from a moral standpoint. How many ppl “selling themselves” are actually trafficked women, or children? If you make it a felony to pay for sex, you’re at least setting some sort of standard against people who traffic others. It’s a drop in a bucket, for sure, but I think we’re naive if we believe the majority of prostitutes are selling themselves because they want to. Turning a blind eye to it just enables it.
I'm joking. It was a feeble attempt at humor. Please forgive me....
I agree with eliminating trafficking. But to get rid of it altogether is incorrect. Firstly, everyone pays for sex. Secondly selling your body is relative. If you're blue collar you're pretty much selling your body as well, but for cheaper.
Construction workers or electricians aren’t selling their bodies. Blue collar workers sell the skills that they worked hard for. It takes zero effort to lay on your back, or post sexy photos of yourself
I disagree. Lots of the girls who make real bank on Insta and Onlyfans take photos rivaling actual fashion/swimwear photography. Not to mention editing, managing social media, etc. Sure, some are just lazy cam girls, but lots actually operate a real business.
Wrong. All those skills take wear and tear. Obviously being a sex worker isn't "as hard" (then again, lol) what I am saying is that the "selling your body" argument is false and weak.
You're right, those prostitutes have such cushy lives
Also, yes, construction and every other form of waged labor is selling your bodily labor in exchange for money.
