I dunno I see a lot of Mexicans out there busting there asses BUT I agree, having them do any kind of labor that requires some skill (wiring, pouring concrete correctly, etc) is often a disaster.
On construction sites, it is a major problem because the Hispanics do not understand and/or speak English enough to comprehend simple instructions. Even when the information is given to them in Spanish, they do major errors happen, and then stuff has to be redone over and over again. Hubby is a paperhanger, and he has caught many errors (ceilings not at correct height listed on blue prints), electrical outlets in wrong places, you name it, it is wrong. It seems they toss out their level too. There isn't pride in doing a great job anymore. More of a just get something there, and we will wear the people down to accept it.
Correct! We just bought a brand new build a year ago and they’ve spent more money coming back and fixing things then if they’d just done it right in the first place! 🙄
I am not an open borders advocate at all, but a friend of mine made an interesting observation. He was in a store, somewhat late and was watching these two guys try to steal stuff. The caught him looking at them and got nervous (he could pass for being a cop easily). But what really caught his attention was the Coyote in the van parked outside who came in and hustled them out of there. Basically, the coyotes are sending these guys in to do their dirty work and if they get caught, oh well...it made me think how much of this is under duress.
This is exactly true in Cali. They can do basic yardwork but that's it. And they often think they know more than they do.
And don't even dream of hiring their teenagers along with them. A hardworking guy brought his two sons to help and they never stopped chatting together the entire time.
I'm the granny and i was working harder than they were - very annoying!
The Mexicans that cross the border illegally, yeah maybe but not Mexicans in general of course. I had a guy here, one of the smartest Mathematicians in the world. Harvard didn't have anyone who knew what he knew & they were begging him to stay. (He went elsewhere for personal reasons.)
He was 1/2 Mexican. Just saying. His Mexican parent came here legally though, of course.
