Grab an old laptop and try to learn linux, that way Gates of Hell can't censor you too. For basic office type applications such as communications, or working on Microsoft Office (Libre Office is an open source free alternative used on linux) it should work perfectly. I only encounter problems on software with proprietary software, which can be solved with the use of wine, try it out on a virtual machine if you're not sure you want to commit.
EDIT: If you end up really liking it, they're starting to come out with more linux based phones every so often. There's many alternatives to IOS, and android OS that are more similar to your regular phone experience. I intend on switching reasonably soon.
Absolutely! I use it everyday! Open source is the way to go and SHOULD be the future of software, but sheep keep going to the big name software and software people tell them to use.

I downloaded Oracle VM Virtual box then downloaded and installed Linux Mint Cinnamon.
There are other versions of Linux but I find this version is pretty good.
You can then run Linux on a virtual machine and it's all free.
I committed to linux, now I virtualize windows lmao
Yes! This is the best option if you absolutely cannot get rid of windows.
If you're at all technically inclined, learning Linux ASAP will be an enormous value add for the rest of your career.

Not just Libre office, but the scientific stuff is good too! R, numpy, scipy and matplotlib, Octave, LabVIEW, Matlab, and so many others.
