As a life long atheist/angostic who hated religion, especially Christianity (I am reading Bible now and believe it a lot of it to true, if not literal, and was written for a benign purpose) I can answer this question.
There is a very deep and subtle mockingbird propaganda against religion for more than 4 decades. When reading mainstream literature you get the impression that religion is about superstition, anti science, causing problems out of ignorance, oppressive to women and gays and that during the Spanish inquisition they were so terribly nasty that they are deadly evil.
On top of that it is always pitted against ancient Eastern religions, automatically causing people from Asia etc to hate it because they are made to believe that it denounces these religions. Infact now i have learnt that Bible says the same things these eastern religions and spirituality teaches.
Oh, and the rampant pedophilia is another aspect. People who dont know bible, cant differentiate between Bible and the Catholic church. I do believe Catholic church has been captured long ago, so it becomes hard for a non religious person to figure out whats benign and whats evil.
Bible was definitely one of the redpills for me.
I think during the old testament, the "Cabal" was just forming and was in the form of Egyptian Pharaohs and Moses helped the people who were least corrupted to defeat them.
Unfortunately by the time of Jesus, this religion had been infiltrated by the Satanic forces, especially by learning how to use Gold to enslave humanity, so in the New Testament, Jesus liberated the world from the Cabal of their day.
Now we are seeing the Catholic Church infiltrated in the exact same way. Curious to see what Great Awakening brings, but we are definitely in Biblical times.
I was the kind of guy who read a lot, considered myself well informed,watched long boring documentaries, never fell for hypes, and yet the mockingbird was so superbly done that they infiltrated people like me as well. Not separating ourselves from society and the trash contained in it causes some of that. Be still and know that I AM GOD is in direct opposition to our constant demand to be entertained using our own or societies interpretation instead of listening to God's opinion /translation.

In right relationship with God, the commandments can be seen as "promises". What?
"Thou shalt have no other Gods before me..." because I AM the only God who loves you. I AM the only God, period, no matter what Enki says or what Loki insists. Once you know Me and live in loving relationship with me, you will seek no other Gods. I AM God. GET TO KNOW ME!
"Thou shalt not make graven images..." because I AM God and those little diddly idols and charms do not live. They can't hear you. They don't love you. They CANNOT respond to you and they can be a serious distraction. You don't NEED to depend on 'luck'. I've got something MUCH better for you! I AM the real deal and in relationship with Me, you can have your best life! I AM God. GET TO KNOW ME!
"Thou shalt not take the name of The Lord thy God in vain" because I AM the Being behind that name. NO ONE ELSE bears that Name and all the responsibility that goes with it. My Name is Holy. No, it's not magic. My Name is NOT to be used to build yourself up or to add credibility to your professions. My Name is NOT to be used for vain oaths or base curses. Have some SERIOUS respect here! You see where this is going? The Commandments show us how to live in relationship with the ONLY living God and in relationship with each other. The Commandments are just a glimpse into the fruition of Life in relationship with God. The Commandments are a door into "the way" and they are a window with a view to The Great Awakening.
Because some people like me grew up being taught (incorrectly) that religion is just a way to control people. I always thought I was too smart to get fooled by that. Only very recently have I realized what a fool I have been as I can see this is clearly a battle of good vs evil in this world. With no religious upbringing though I am very lost on where to start or how to get into it all
The message boils down to, "You are a mess, you were born this way, nothing you do on your own can fix that, Jesus came to fix it on your behalf, and the only way to avoid hell is to accept Jesus' help and follow him. Oh and upfront, following Jesus will get you disliked by society at best and killed/tortured at worst." Add to that Jesus' claim that he is the only way to avoid going to hell. That means ALL other faiths are wrong.
That's an offensive message, even if it is the truth.
People want to believe that they're in control of their own lives and that they can pull themselves up by their bootstraps. People also want to live like tomorrow will never happen (drunkenness, debauchery, fornication, adultery, etc.). So they're more inclined to believe whatever allows them to live the life they want.
I would highly recommend the classic: The Age of Reason, by Thomas Paine, one of our nation’s most profound early thinkers, to anyone interested in why so many people are turning away from the Bible these days.
The Bible is coded, and possibly mutilated. Hard to understand what is true and what is false. Which is where discernment comes in. Dial GOD for discernment.
