That's exactly the same shit going on with McDonald's ice cream machines. I just read about it a couple of months ago. I don't have the article I read but I found this one that doesn't go into quite the depth as the one I read but it explains well enough what is going on. https://readon.substack.com/p/why-are-ice-cream-machines-at-mc
the crazy thing about that whole mcdonalds ice cream machine debocle is someone actually solved the issue, they figured out exactly why the machines never reach the right temps and shut down and it's because the employees are over filling them and making it impossible for the machines to run through the pasteurization cycles.
but the company who sells those machines have it in the contracts that only they can service the machines... with their service company.
at a certain point that company just decided that the way to work mcdonalds over was to sell them an entire fleet of something that they will constantly fuck up, and make all their money on the backend servicing the machines.
the same company makes the same type of machines for burger king, wendy's, chick-fil-a... none of them have these issues...
a simple update to the software actually fixes it (telling the machine to run the heating cycle longer so an overfull machine has time to reach the right temp)... so does telling employees to load the machine right... neither side will commit to doing either.
also fuck the mcdonalds who clean the machines after dinner rush and then are too lazy to "dirty them up again" at night.
Yeah, I read https://archive.ph/VS5mk and this video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SrDEtSlqJC4
