I hope this isn't true, but...best find out now and start looking into it.

We've heard this before, a month or two ago. One thing to remember is that the AG Dept has always paid certain farmers not to produce certain crops/products in order to keep prices up for everybody else. I'm not saying they're not doing something more nefarious now, but every story where a farmer is paid not to grow something does not necessarily mean the gov't is trying to starve the people to death. So, research with discernment and make sure you have something more than just this standard price support structure.
Yes, this a lot of stuff actually gets wasted or destroyed to keep prices higher for farmers because the could not afford to grow crops. I wish there was a better way instead of destroying food that people could eat.
Agree, that "wasted" food/crops could readily be used in poorer areas of our country where families really need the extra help with feeding their families.
Dumpsters are surprisingly expensive. Probably more liability that they don't want to risk getting sued because someone got sick eating nearly-expired food.
Maybe not make the equipment cost and arm and a leg?
you want to get real pissed look into the "right to repair" lawsuits going on with those big tractor and machinery manufacturers.
if you work on your own tractor they can disable it and refuse to give you codes to get it running again.
...for your safety.
NO FUCKING WAY!
That is some communist bullshit right there. I'm telling you that is what they fucking want for EVERYTHING. Pretty soon you won't be able to fix your own fucking BREAKFAST.
Man ... just when I get myself calmed down, I read about shit like this.
solution: change back to non-computer running tractor (or, modify computer out of tractor if you start working on it on your own)
Then how do you strap the producers in this world by the giggidy bits?
Less cities, more urban and rural living.
A little bit of work and space is all you need to produce a good bit of your own food.
Growing up the whole family grew stuff and canned, so the majority of our food was grown and canned by my mom, dad, grandma, and aunts.
Here too. But this year... my garden struggled ... hasn't produced as much as other years.... no peas, I'll be lucky if I get enough beets and carrots for a meal, forget about having enough to can.
My tomato plants are producing some but look like crap. It was dry, so I'd water because no rain was forecasted ... then torrential rain would happen. I didn't do anything right this year. All other years gardening was almost effortless... this year I completely suck at it.
A lot of people have had limited production this year in their home gardens. The ones that did well were the ones that had flowers around their plants to pied piper the pollinators. I did not, but my neighbor did. His tomatoes and cucumbers were heavy producers.
sorry fren. I got the opposite problem . So much rain I think they got root rot
Yeah that's awesome, that what my wife and I do! But 50% doesnt want to do that and just write blogs lol
A better way would be get rid of food stamps, have the government (or legit charities) buy the excess and feed anyone hungry…
Yeah, I always thought with food stamps that people should have to do so many hours of community service to get them. So the ones that really needed it would do it
Thanks for the info. That is one of the reasons why I posted it here - to find out more.

This is above and beyond subsidies to farmers. And yes, do your research!
Did you watch the video, though?
HR 3030 is about health insurance & S 3030 is about eviction So what's this bill 3030 she's talking about?
