I would agree except in a couple cases. The Constitutional classes that Patriot Academy puts on turns out young people who are on fire to serve. They have numerous instances of recent students who want to turn around and serve on the school board. I think their input could be very valuable. I would not limit it to only parents. Grandparents and other relatives could also be good. I do think it is the responsibility of the entire community to at least attend meetings because it's the parents who have the least time of anyone. No time in life is as busy and overwhelming with two parents working than when you have kids in school. So the rest of us need to be taking up some of the slack for them.
Good post - wouldn't mind seeing a standalone post just about Patriot Academy. Could be used as an aggregator thread. I got something else cooking and am (for now) unfamiliar with school-aged children and the concerns of parents.
