Lets assume that this administration and covid all get exposed for the scams they are. Lets assume we win in every possible way, crimes against humanity exposed etc. Gen. Patton was trying to warn everyone of what to do with those who had radical ideology and insisted there were still communists in the USA and they would come back stronger than ever. Well here we are. So I ask you as just someone who is curious. What do you think should be done to keep this from happening again? Do you think the normies have the intestinal fortitude to do the things necessary to keep this from happening again assuming we actually claim a victory over this tyranny.
My biggest fear is that years from now we do win this war and society goes soft on the criminals who have committed these atrocities and in a few decades we get to do this all over again.

Decades? No. That is too extreme.
This is a defining moment in a civilization. It will make an indelible impression that will run through this generation, our children, and to some extent our grandchildren. These new ideals will last a century or so. Then evil will once again start to creep into our institutions. In 400 years anything we do now will all be a distant memory only known as a blip in the history books.
One need only look at history to see how the future will likely play out.
I think that what happened immediately following WWII and the warning Patton gave about exactly what we are seeing today is showing that if you dont root out the problems they just resurface. I mean look at operation paperclip. They didnt even hold people accountable, they just moved them around. This problem runs deep. Media, almost all schools, all of our entertainment. I really hope it wakes people up enough to where this is not a problem for centuries or more but I have little faith in mankind as a whole.

What about the media, the teachers, the activists, the entertainers... hundreds of thousands of people are helping perpetuate all the evils we see today. Will winning a victory or what seems like the war truly be enough to stop the evil they are doing. I truly do not know the answer.

I agree completely. I suppose accountability would be a good start. I cant remember the last time I saw someone in power truly punished for their actions. Hopefully our justice system comes back and shows that it works for all classes of people.
Patton was clearly right, and it's clear as day that if we don't root out the evil instead of letting most of the perps slide, we'll be right back in Hell before we ever get things really fixed.
And here's the heart of it, although this is NOT a popular idea here: COERCION is the root cause of all our troubles. Coercion IS criminal behavior, and it is also the single defining characteristic of government.
America was special (and faint echoes of that still survive) BECAUSE WE SEVERELY LIMITED GOVERNMENT COERCION.
We didn't go far enough. The ember of coercion embedded in the Constitution grew to the continent-sized wildfire we have today. Psychopaths and power-mongers will ALWAYS beaver away at legal restrictions on government power, growing the power "for our safety" or "for the people's benefit" or for whatever excuse they find that the public will accept.
We either find a way to replace all government coercion with civil institutions and civil behavior (we once had far more of both here in America) or we massively cut government as it now exists and put in place draconian penalties that cannot be avoided for those who steal, or even try stealing, our rights.
We tried limited government already; it's what brought us to where we are now. The legal penalties that supposedly protect us from tyranny have failed. You've noticed, surely.
Trump can help us bring back sanity to America (and yes, WE have to do most of the work), but that's only the start. To protect ourselves and future generations, the evil of slavery to government must be ENDED, just as chattel slavery was ended. All the arguments against ending coercive government are the same as those used against ending slavery in the South. They're all bullshit. Initiated coercion by one group against everyone else is NOT necessary for civil society, or for anything else worth having.
It can't be glossed over; it can't be faked; we can't whistle past the topic and just hope it works out. Coercive power-centers are ALWAYS captured and enlarged by psychopaths and well-meaning idiots -- tyrants, in other words. The larger the core of sanctioned initiated coercion left in place, the sooner real evil will return.
This is exactly how I feel about it. I just question if our modern society has the understanding and capacity to truly root this all out or just declare a premature victory and suffer the same consequences in years to come. Very well put response.

I think this is going to happen anytime a generation gets too lazy to keep active in their governments. If they get lazy, they’ll look government to get too big and think for them. Let’s hope we finally learn how to teach our children to teach.

I wouldnt down vote that. I went my whole life not believing in god. Recent events make me see that there is truly a battle of good vs evil in this world and I believe that is what the bible has been telling us from the start. Needless to say the current events make me believe the bible is more of a warning of what is coming than a old book written by people seeking to control the masses (which was my previous views on it).
