My local CVS is saying they are unable to fill my prescription because the state of Missouri has purchased 1 million doses and is creating a shortage. Does anyone know if this is true or have a way to find out?
UPDATE: My wife spoke to a different pharmacist today. They had enough for her prescription but not mine. The pharmacist from yesterday was lying. No idea what gives them the power to overrule a doctor but here we are
I can tell you that, for horses, I bought 2 bottles of Ivermectin paste and a bottle of injectable Ivermectin fairly easy here in Missouri, and could probably buy more.
I have a bunch of the ivermectin for my many horses but I have a prescription for my wife and I. It’s just weird the pill version has suddenly disappeared off the market.
In the last 6 weeks, usage has probably been 100x what it historically has been.
There are not many products that could adjust to that in a seem less way.
This guy supply chains
Yeah in NE Illinois horse paste is long since sold out, very few stores stocked it in the first place and I'm sure actual horse owners are pretty pissed right now.
Consider the fact that before this year, ivermectin tablets for humans had very limited uses and few manufacturers. Fast forward and increase demand by 1000 fold or more.
It only makes sense it will be in short supply. The powdered version is likely still available for compounding, but this will probably be getting scarce too.
I have no idea if the government bought a shit load, but it wouldn’t surprise me. The government has a history of doing similar things (anthrax scare with cipro). Why Missouri though? Republican controlled state on all levels. We know Rinos exist. Parsons is still a bit questionable, sort of riding the fence a little when it comes to mandates and masking. I guess we wait and see.
