Have you ever seen the Akira Kurasawa movie "Kagemusha"? Set in the warring states period, the movie is about a thief who bore a striking resemblance to the daimyo who was shot by a sniper and trained to impersonate him as his doppleganger so as not to show weakness to the enemy feudal lords.
