As a huge fan of old school D&D, I have noticed an absurd amount of mentally ill people using D&D as a way to act out their depravity and twisted self-delusional fantasies. I have noticed it in the game store, among (ex)friends, and in many 5th edition communities.
The newest edition especially makes it easy for people to play overpowered furry hermaphrodites and there's a disgusting trend amongst modern players to demand roleplaying sexual depravity.
It's quite upsetting because I would like to just play a classic beer-n-pretzel hack'n'slash with minimal story, maximum murder, and no fucking queermoes trying to make me roleplay faggotry.
I noticed the same thing at my local game store on D&D night.
When we went through the 'month-of-no-masks' here locally, the D&D groups started back up and I happened in one night to pick up some Outriders for my White Scar army.
One entire table was dedicated to a sexual depravity game... they were literally, and loudly, role playing an LGBTLMNOPQRST orgy in front of all the customers.
Ten years ago, they would have been kicked out. I walked up to the counter with my 40K stuff and asked the guy there, "You allow this in your store?" and he says "We can't say anything, and if we try to kick them out then the police will charge us with a hate crime."
Mind blown.
Lewd behavior? Obscenity? Maybe if a customer calls?
Lewd behavior and obscenity? I can tell you don't live near a blue city. Lewd behavior and obscenity is just called Monday morning around here. The police would laugh at you if you're lucky.
If you're unlucky then they'd probably trace the call to you and arrest you instead.
Just trying to help. It might work, but definitely depends on local enforcement. Even a noise complaint might work if they're really loud. I'm in Los Angeles, blue by most accounts. And plenty of open depravity on display in some parts. Even so, there are still differences between LAPD in Hollywood, Sheriffs in unincorporated parts, and police in separate cities like Culver City or Burbank. The best is to ask a local cop if there's anything you can do. It kind of feels like fighting the tide, though.
Are you kidding me that’s absolutely disgusting. Children enter those stores! Theres no way they’d have a hate crime! Its public indecency
Please tell me it wasn't F.A.T.A.L. [YOU DO NOT WANNA RESEARCH!!]
I'm not going to research. Not interested in any more depravity than I have to see on a daily basis at work... and trust me where I work I get to see the worst that humanity has to offer on a daily basis.
Dare I ask where you work?
I work for the DIA
