Each year, employees are required to attest to the company’s Code of Ethics. This is something that most employees read through in its entirety maybe their first year and then blindly sign every year after.
This year, the company was very careful to slide in this very vague, but extremely over reaching sentence. Out of a 39 page document, there was that one sentence and it was inserted in a way that avoided key words people who are concerned would be searching for such as Covid or vaccine.
By attesting to this Code of Ethics, if they move in the direction (which I’m positive they will) of mandating vaccines and booster shots, any employee who attested to this would be stripped of their rights to refuse, since they already attested to adhering to “any additional requirements”.
Fairly ironic that they deceptively inserted this ethics violation into their Code of Ethics.
My boss would have me sign a form yearly though items in it were illegal. I said I wanted someone to see this and advise me. Boss just said sign it or dont come to work tomorrow. So I indicated "Signed under duress". I didnt care because I was waiting for the choice opportunity to retire.
Same thing with doctors/hospitals. They give a form to sign and say: This is just permission to treat you OR this is in regards to HIPPA regulations. The worst are admission forms and discharge forms. I found so many errors to things no one EVER asked me about.
Errors on my meds and dosages
On activities of daily living normal even though I'm handicapped
Errors on next of kin and Living Will Directives. Without ever asking they put me down as 'do not resuscitate' and 'living organ donor'.
Nowadays READ EVERYTHING before you sign, question anything. Youre better off leaving than signing your rights away.
Lets see here... Handicapped, DNR, organ donor
::hand rubbing intensifies::
Did you tell them to redraft, and come at you with not only a better offer now, but also a formal letter of appology??? If not I would likely be threatening about going to a local news network or something :D....I am tired of corporations shitting all over us and we just let this shit slide. We need to make a stand
My father is doing something similar. His employer stated "Sure you dont have to get the jab" "HOWEVER you insurance premiums will raise $2k this year if you DO NOT COMPLY". It's not always about having the force to win the argument, or engagement...It's about having the courage to stand up.....Maybe pass the torch to those who DO have the means to finish the fight!.
The motto, "Live Free or Die" has never been more apropos.
AMEN!!!!

I hope you crossed out that part before you signed it. By crossing out and clearly noting the change before you sign, you are legally making your company a counter offer. They then have the responsibility to either accept or deny your counter offer.
It puts the ball back in their court.
It is an online attestation, that you just click to attest at the end of it. No room for comments or otherwise. We’ll see what HR ends up coming back with
Print a hard copy or request a hard copy and cross out that line, initial and date where you made the change. This is a counteroffer, good advice from Monomial above.

It's not supposed to go to court. It's an intimidation attempt to force compliance for the majority and the rest will get fired with no benefits when they refuse. That small amount was calculated by the lawyers and accounts to be worth the trouble financially. I kind of hate how well I can see through this sort of tactic.
