My understanding is that because Chief Justice Roberts keeps siding with the 3 libs, it is allowing Thomas to decide who writes the majority opinion, including himself, and this is making him the de facto leader of the court because he is in charge of majority opinions. I do not believe there has been any official change of title from Roberts to Thomas. It has just become become reality on decisions as Roberts has shown he is truly just a liberal on the court.
Personally, I think Obama and his Intelligence Community blackmailed Roberts during the Obamacare case.

Everything you said is correct, but I disagree on this point.
Bush KNEW that Roberts was a big government Trojan Horse. Karl Rove bragged about how he interviewed Roberts for the CJ position. He asked Roberts who his all-time favorite SCOTUS justice was. He said Robert Jackson.
Robert Jackson is the one who wrote the opinon during FDR that basically says if a farm product COULD be sold interstate, even though it never was, then it falls under federal authority due to interstate commerce clause.
Jackson played a big role in destroying the original intent of the Constitution, and John Roberts is the same type of dirty scum -- as are Karl Rove and Georgie Bush.
BTW, this is why both the leftists and the fake conservatives hate Clarence Thomas. He has stated that bad case precedent should be overturned ASAP. He is absolutely right.
I agree with you. One think that makes me think Roberts flipped though is that he originally wrote an opinion to stop obamacare and then changed his course midstream. I just assumed someone called him and said, "_____ is coming out unless you change course."
I just heard a prophet say that God will stop up the source of the cabal’s power and I think they were thinking of the us. This was yesterday on Elijashstreams
Not officially, of course. John G. Roberts, Jr., retains the title and the middle seat on the Supreme Court bench. But the Chief Justice has just one essential power that differentiates his role from that of the other Justices. The Chief has the right to assign the court's opinions when he is in the majority. When the Chief Justice is in the minority, though, the assignment power goes to the senior Associate Justice who is in the majority.
There was also a snippet discussion that Clarence Thomas is now Chief Justice. No confirmation yet that I can locate. But another anon here on GAW referred to same.
it's an opinion piece. it does not say "he is" it says that he is the "de facto" chief justice based on "being the senior associate ruling in the majority" because JR consistently votes with minority.
this give CT the ability to pen the majority opinion and is the most senior associate.
He is still associate, Roberts is still officially chief. But, because conservatives are in the majority, Thomas gets to write the official opinions that shape policy. It's sort of a sword of power type of 'chief' and not an official position.
Where did you read this
How is this not posted :)

When do we finally get to see all they have on Roberts? I'm so tired of popcorn. I'm eating finger nails.
Thank you for explaining!
Thank You!!!

GME is going to break their power.
from the opinion piece written by Toobin
Toobin forgot to mention that the CJ also oversees the corrupt FISA court.

Cool, ya, not calling you out or anything, just would love to follow along on that. So much weird stuff happening beneath the waves, so to speak
