On November 29, 1963, President Lyndon B. Johnson appointed Ford to the Warren Commission, a special task force set up to investigate the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.[50] Ford was assigned to prepare a biography of accused assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. He and Earl Warren also interviewed Jack Ruby, Oswald's killer. According to a 1963 FBI memo that was released to the public in 2008, Ford was in contact with the FBI throughout his time on the Warren Commission and relayed information to the deputy director, Cartha DeLoach, about the panel's activities.[51][52][53] In the preface to his book, A Presidential Legacy and The Warren Commission, Ford defended the work of the commission and reiterated his support of its conclusion
Is that supposed to be Calvin Coolidge? and is one of the others Herbert Hoover? Taking it back to the start of the depression and showing all of the Republican presidents since then?
All 19 Republican presidents are in there. Artist confirmed in the linked WP article. He also says the woman is the "first woman Republican president." The figure looks quite similar to Jackie Kennedy. The outfit looks like the one she was wearing when in Vienna in 1961
Thank you Norman, still learning so much and since I was a baby when all this went down, I didn't know who this was but was nice to do a little digging on Dorothy Kilgallen and finding a new piece to the puzzle.
I can't seem to find Rutherford B. Hayes. He looks similar to Benjamin Harrison, but I think that's Harrison next to what looks to be Chester Arthur. Background with Hayes is the disputed election of 1876. Is the implication that Hayes wasn't a legitimate Republican president?

Well yes, a lot of presidents would be missing since it's only supposed to be the Republican presidents. If you look closely enough, you can see a lot of them in the background... Grant, Arthur, Harrison, Harrison, Taft, Hoover, McKinley, Coolidge etc. The only one I can't seem to see is Rutherford B. Hayes
Hi fren, thanks for the assessment- could I ask you to express the link between the Warren Commission, YT vid of Carrier Ford explosion and the Signal flag (Quebec- Q- yes?) please?
I feel like I absorbed the info separately but missed the link (UK fren here, so not very well versed on US history but very interested). Sorry...
After a tour in Vienna, Austria and Russian language training at the U.S. Army Russian Institute in Oberammergau, Matlock arrived in Moscow for the first time in 1961. Initially a Vice Consul, Matlock met with individuals seeking to visit or emigrate to the United States. His most famous case was Lee Harvey Oswald, who applied for a repatriation loan to return to the United States after having previously moved to the Soviet Union.[14] Indeed, according to the records received by the Warren Commission, in May 1962, Jack Matlock conducted the exit interview which enabled the Oswald family to leave the USSR and return to the USA.
After a year, Matlock was promoted to Third Secretary in the Political Section. American foreign policy with regard to the Soviet Union, known as containment, had been articulated in 1947 by George F. Kennan, who was later to become a good friend of Matlock's.[12] The American policy was basically to contain the spread of Communism, in the expectation that it would eventually collapse of internal contradictions. This did not prevent discussions between the Superpowers. In June 1961, President John F. Kennedy and First Secretary Nikita Khrushchev met in Vienna, and in December the United Nations General Assembly approved a draft joint resolution on principles for negotiating disarmament.[15] This period also saw the beginnings of U.S. - U.S.S.R. cultural exchanges, notably the visit of poet Robert Frost to Moscow.[16]
The containment policy was tested during the October 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. Matlock, along with Richard Davies and Herbert Okun, translated communications between President John F. Kennedy and Nikita Khrushchev.

What president is not in the painting.
Why?
Who is in the background left of center?
Know your history.
Warren Commission.

Ford is in the painting. Prominently. He's right behind Trump. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/oct/15/donald-trump-painting-artist-white-house-presidents Unless you're talking about a different picture.
As I see it these are the people in the picture. They are all Republicans: Going from left to right:
GHW Bush is standing directly below him is Ronald Reagan and left bottom is GW Bush.
Abe Lincoln is in bottom middle Just above him is Eisenhower. And then Trump.
Above Trump is Ford then Teddy Roosevelt is on the Right and below right is Nixon.
What I wanna know is who is the person above Teddy Roosevelt?? I don't recognize his face.
I made a blowup with all the names labeled

Very interesting perspective. Dark hair, even the same kind of hairline, more modern clothes. Kind of like a Cloud Atlas (movie) vibe to it.

I don't need a history book. I have 2 eyes. The VAST MAJORITY of the Presidents are not in the painting.
Blue Pill... back to the Matrix.
