As for his hand, it looks like his fingers got smashed in a door. Like, the one finger with the black stripe looks like it has blood under it (bruise) and the other looks like the fingernail came off. I've had both of those injuries from getting my fingers smashed.
Maybe torture? Maybe SS closed the car door on him while his hand was on the door jam? Maybe comms?

The black mark could be a sharpie to remind him of something. The deformed fingernail next to it is the result of having slammed or pinched it in the past, as the nailbed is making a full nail now over the scar. I had one like it from hitting it with a hammer. This can be repaired by using a thick acrylic nail over it as a splint, the nail has to completely grow out about three times under the splint.
Or psoriasis.
Also possible, but it is confined to the nail so neatly I think he smashed a finger. It has that rippled look.
