The Bible specifically talks about not just repeating things mindlessly.

These resources would be far more useful.
Yeah, I trust Jesus more.
Here's some repetitive prayer in the infallible word of God.
Psalm 136
You trust Jesus more than you trust Jesus?
Not mindlessly, but if it comes from your heart, it's a real prayer. Also, the Lord's Prayer is a model. Jesus was saying that these are the components a prayer should have. I'm sure we are free to personalize them.
Of course we are - in fact, I’m pretty sure there’s a lot more power in our prayers when they’re honest and from our hearts.
And where did I disagree with any of this?
Mindlessly quoting those words is not praying from the heart, nor is it the level of a relationship that Jesus wants for us.
If it is coming from your heart, it isn't just a mindless ritual. I agree with you that if we are just repeating a ritual incantation, that is not what God is looking for, but many people you will witness saying the Lord's Prayer are actually praying, and any are not.
The prophet Elijah “cried out” three times to save a mother’s child. Why didn’t he just pray once? Cause it took three times. How many times do you think Elijah would’ve prayed had the third time not worked? As many times as was needed. If you really want a prayer answered, keep at it. When God’s own prophet needed to keep at those prayers, mind you a person who God took to Heaven without Elijah’s death, he never died...then we as mere servants should give as many prayers as we can, word for word if needs be. Cry out. God is listening.
Beautiful and powerful! 👆 🙏
This could not be less relevant to my comment. Nowhere did I say that repetitive prayer is a bad thing. The Bible explicitly says the opposite in dozens of examples.
there is a stark difference between repeating ohms for hours and praying using a blueprint given from the Son of God
And yet my comment stands... Prayer is supposed to be you speaking to The Lord, and not just repeating something.
"The Lord's Prayer" as a blueprint would also imply that it's an EXAMPLE, which would be agreeing with me.
