Find a local men's or women's Christian rehab home that runs off donations. Find a local food pantry that needs money to buy gasoline to pick up groceries. Go to your electric company & ask to help pay for someone's electricity that needs a little help to get them either turned back on or keep them from being shut off. Go to an elementary school & tell them you want to pay for kids accounts that need money in their accounts. Next time you're in a fast food drive-thru, buy the meal for the customer behind you. Start in your area. Do it anonymously.
I was homeless for a period, and I went to a church group. I spoke about the problems I faced as a homeless person.
The guy after me came up and started talking about hurricane victims. How bad he felt for them, and how he wished he could do something to help the homeless - Donate some money, or some toothpaste, etc.
I was so appalled by his lack of awareness. The guy sat right next to me, a homeless person, but was more concerned about helping the hurricane victims so he could virtue signal.
Point being, there's always someone near you that is in need, and you have no idea the pain they are going through. Someone took me to an organic grocery store once and I felt like I hit the lottery.
You don't have to tithe with money. You can tithe with your time. Help an elderly neighbor. Mow your sick neighbor's lawn. Shovel someone's driveway. Volunteer your time to a worthy organization. Give the extra food from your garden to someone in need. And, while you're at it, share your love of the Lord.
First, pray for wisdom form God in all things. Don't listen to what man says, listen to the holy spirit within. Do what the Holy Spirit reveals to you through your meditation and prayer.
But know this. If you give faithfully, and have prayed about it, and have done your best to ensure you were giving to a worthy cause, then you are covered, and the sin of those that abuse you tithing are answerable to God for there sins, and not you.
Yes ..the more u give the more you get, it’s a wonderful circle that never stops giving ..the comment from 17771192016 is a blessing and a good reference for you ,
Tithes is a tenth of everything you get (gross). Offerings is above and beyond that.
Personally, I give to local church I attend, and I would also recommend that. 10% there, and then anything above that to other ministries or things.
Finally, I always try to make sure my "investment" matters. A "tithe" or "offering" isn't to something like a political organization. It should be to directly benefit others with the purpose of sharing Christ, leading others to him, or making him know to others.
Look at it this way – if you give $100 to XYZ organization and it helps 100 people, but none of them heard the gospel/die without knowing, was that really a good investment?
My tithe goes to my church. But there are groups in the church I do or do not give to. For example my 10% will go to church but not for the diocese (who hides pedo priests, who allows communion photo ops for those supporting abortion, etc).
Then I do give to homeless and Birthright (organization that helps girls who kept their babies).
I used to give to local food pantry until I found them throwing food away or giving food to the organizers
Agree with the post below about anonymous. do some charity in your home town, food and clothes for the poor. Mostly pray for the strong leading of the Holy Spirit and step out in faith.
If your in the political donor class, you create charitable trusts than can aim to serve the best things you want to preserve or progress in humanity. Sometimes thats religious in nature. Sometimes not.
If you think your at the top in your mcmansion you give to those charities during 30k a plate dinners.
Then you got your top doers. People who are highly productive individuals that make the worldwide consumerism dance happen. Modest wages, give tousands to tens of thousands a year to a mcmansion minister.
Anything below that and your probably not tithing too much. Probably dropping a few bucks here and there in the plate. Hundreds to thousands a year to your local church.
Below that and you are people who are supposedly served by all the public aid taxes. What help would someone actually get? Would could they afford to part with?
Are you saved ? (Accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior) if not, tithing will do you no benefit. If you are, God commands a tenth/tithe of every dollar you generate (gross income) into the house of the Lord (a good soul winning church or ministry). If you are obedient—God will bless your finances. If you don’t—you are under a curse. Malachi 3:6-10.
God honors obedience over sacrafice. Thankfully, we know his Word. Instructions to find Gods favor begin by obeying His Word. Of course, this all begins at salvation. Are you born again?

Thanks! This is good advice.
Bravo and God bless you ..truth!
👆This. Absolutely. God smiles on these acts.

Yes. Send tithes to JudicialWatch.org to help fund their legal efforts, and FOIA disbursements against the swamp. Thank you.

Well said đź‘Ť
Ask God where, and He will show you where the needs are. Be prepared to be blessed and humbled by His mighty hand.

I tithe to patriots and hard working people... not to preachers needing a new jet or a new Mercedes

It honestly depends on how much your tithing.

The word implies tenth
Correct
I am closer to the few bucks here and there group.
Not sure if the question at the end was for me, but I receive no material help. Someone lent me their truck once in 1988.
Damn good question
Give of your time, talent and resources. I don't like just blindly giving money but i didn't hesitate to donate to the church food bank

I have accepted Jesus into my heart as Lord and my Savior. I pray and talk to Jesus and read the Bible. I do not belong to a church.
That’s the next step— get connected to a local body of believers. I recommend full gospel churches. We weren’t made to go through life alone
