Yeah after Nikki Minaj came out and took the flak, you will see other "brave" celebrities try to get some of that sunlight to bask in.
Edit: Couple of corrections. Firstly, this particular supermodel was apparently not shy to talk about these stuff. Another kind anon pointed to some foreign sites that seem to imply that she had been vocal for a while (but also she had a good fan base that supported her as well). So my comment really doesn't apply to her.
As for all the other celebrities who will finally start showing up and finally deciding to speak up - I applaud their honesty and I would be pretty happy that they are turning the tide, but at the same time I am entitled to feel cynical about their apparent lack of bravery all this time.
Or you can think of it of it as when one person steps up to speak out, others see it as it as a good and safe time to join in. More voices echoing the same message isn’t a bad thing at all. A lot of people are scared or cowardly. Brave people have to start the charge.
A little research goes a long way, wouldn't you say?
Wow, imagine a bunch of people, trying to do research together, and one person who finds something valuable in foreign sites that most others would not have come across during their research, and offers it - but not with the intention to help the group learn more, but with the intention to feel superior, perhaps as a way to cover up their own insecurities.
Thank goodness we are not that kinda people, wouldn't you say?
And for your disingenuous question, the answer is - Thats why a lot of us are here! Happy you are realising it too. God bless your soul!
This is not about ego, it is about knowing what you do not know. Moving with a global view, leaves room to at least suppose there may have been others.
Knowing what you don't know leads to your claim being a question. To wit:
Have there been other "brave" celebrities before Nikki Minaj who took flak?
Your inference may proof true in many cases, because cynicism dictates such. Also an American-centric view helps in obscuring the global humanitarian-scope of this posing as a covid-19 healthcare coups des etats (plural).
As with every group, there are shades and geographical dispersion, and some simply will show their colors when needs be, because, despite being a celebrity, they at least are trying to use their platform to push back, despite the flak and perhaps personal consequences.
As far as disingenuous goes: Could it be you have no knowledge of what that word means, apart from maybe breaking your tongue when trying to speak such a word?
dis = not; lacking;
in = not; opposite off;
genu = cut off from genus = kind or class of things;
ous = suffix to transform things into adjectives in the sense of inclined to; full off.
Looking at it from this view, that word is raped beyond cognition and has no meaning. It's babble.
If you meant to say: dishonest, say so. But then again, was I dishonest in pointing out you are lacking knowledge and providing the means to correct? Or, was leaving you with MSN articles not in your native language, and without translation, is that dishonest, while knowing that a simply copy paste into DeepL solves your lack of knowledge?
You were not dishonest in providing information that most people in the world would never have access to,
BUT, you were dishonest in saying this:
A little research goes a long way, wouldn't you say?
Perhaps you meant it differently, but the meaning of this is essentially "You did not even bother to do even a little research".
The reason why this is dishonest because you knew very well that unless I was a German or Dutch person I would have no way of uncovering that information myself even with more than reasonable amount of research, and yet you implied I did not do even a little bit research.
Not only is this dishonest, its downright disrespectful in a site where we are here purely because we like to do research and learn the truth.
So your comment was dishonest, disrespectful and uncalled for.

Not to burst your bubble, but...what about seeing this as a positive? Dominoes starting to fall? The more famous people who do this, the better, right?
We're the dozens of cowboys. The DS is the lone gunman in the rocks with a single barreled shotgun. We will overcome that gunman, but will you volunteer to be the first to charge?

Dont let my cynical tone hide my happiness that this is happening!

WAY before Nikki Minaj went saint. Minaj is almost the after party for celebrities.

Agree, I’ve never even heard of Doutzen. I’ll take them both speaking the same message as us. The more the merrier!

Choose right over spite.
As I said to another person, don't let my cynical tone hide my happiness in seeing this finally start happening.
