I was raised Catholic. Went through first communion, catechism classes, confirmation and all that jazz. I learned very little from the repetitive ritualistic nature of how mass was structured. The sit, stand, kneel routine was torture and counter productive imo. I started going out with my ex as a young adult and her mother was a devout Christian. One day I went with them to a bible based christian church and learned more during that one service than I had in all my time going to my catholic church. I don't profess to be a model Christian but I'm much happier having started going to churches that teach directly from the bible and where you can just sit during the church service and soak up everything that the pastor is saying.
