Gonna get me some as we start going into the Winter. I live in the Sun Belt and get tons of sunshine thus I create my own Vitamin D right now.
Just a reminder, from someone who has to take D3(doctor recommended), some peoples bodies don’t absorb d3 from the sun as others do. I work outside for a living, and have to take a d3 supplement. I usually take the 125 mcg (5000iu) every other day.
Does it matter what your skin color is? I'm pale as heck, and live in the South, so I don't think I'd have absorption issues.
yes, it's more difficult for black people to absorb vitamin D naturally from the sun than it is for a fair skinned person or just lighter skinned in general.
I am very pale. I live near the coast. I was low on vitamin d for over 5 years while taking prescribed 50,000 vit d3 once a week. I finally was a normal level.
I take 5000 a day. Dark skinned people have a much harder time absorbing from the sun, so they should definitely take D3 every day.
Yes, testing is necessary to see where you are at and then research gives you the information to get to your desired amount.
