It’s not personal preference my man. It’s the level of work and wonder of the creation between the two. This is a known tactic from Marxism with building design. There’s a reason why modern art style is an absolute eye sore to look at and the older style with stone sculptures of old are majestic.
The classical building has too much power elite influence
Thats only because you have been trained by the Elites to accept that as such.
The Elites have certainly had their hand in corrupting the arts, as they have everything else that is holy and sacred.
That aside, you can't deny that there were many classical works that were divinely inspired, as were the artist's perseverance for excellence in their craft. Many artists were commoners, blessed by God with their talents. They were used by the Elites, while being both starving and poor in their deaths. Some were even buried in unmarked graves, and their names didn't bare the fruits of their success until long after their death.
To pull their work apart is no better than BLM pulling statues apart. There is nothing more demoralizing than to see the uneducated criticize work that takes countless hours and education to create. Keep that in mind when you pass judgement.
I'm going to be really rude and say I don't like either.
The classical building has too much power elite influence and the modern is, as you say, designed to demoralise.
I like old brick and stone town buildings and houses which aren't trying too hard.

Art should be awe-inspiring, not blah.

There’s something so beautiful in simplicity
