The old saying "Blood is thicker than water" is believed to mean to keep your families closer than your friends. However this is not what the saying originally meant, it has been shortened and perverted from its original meaning and it actually means the opposite.
The full saying is, "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." This can be taken in a couple ways. I personally infer it to mean that the relationship amongst warriors would be thicker than the relationship between family; which i find completely true.
Others also interpret this as the definition of covenant being an agreement and so your covenant with God should be higher than your relationship with family. I'm not well educated on topics of religion, so you can do your own research.
My thoughts in how this is related here; I see occasional posts about families that see different on current issues like the vax. It is ok if you disagree with your family and hold beliefs against the vax. Also, people here have family that have not been awakened yet and are scorned by such, its ok if you have a better relationship with other fellow digital soldiers versus people in your family that may not see what were up against.

Simple: the relationships you forge through conscious choice can be stronger than ones you just happen to be born into.
“ The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb” meaning your agreement with god is more in alignment with your truth than an obligation you may feel to your family…
Holy smokes, that is mad awesomeness right there. Thank you.
Its really mind blowing to learn it actually means the opposite of what everyone thinks. Thats life i guess.
This, specifically, refers to Jesus' words at the Last Supper. THE Covenant. His sacrifice to us for the promise of salvation; a renegotiation of the Old Covenant (aka Testament).
Matthew 26:27:
"The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe." - Proverbs 29:25
In this case we see people getting injected with a weapon to keep people from getting mad at them, especially family.
The blood of the covenant (Jesus) is more powerful than water (natural birth). Hence we must be born again
Thanks, that is interesting!
Oh, and on the topic of religion - What was a blood covenant?
Thank you for this!
No problem, glad you enjoy learning about it.
The "blood covenant" is talking about a ritual of taking an oath, swearing loyalty to someone by combining blood. Think of the term "blood brother".
I wholeheartedly agree. I have Navy/Marine buddies, as well as my best friend/sister from another mister who are more of a family to each other than our own blood kin. Blood doesn't mean shit when it comes to shitty people with shitty belief systems.
And yes, your covenant with God comes before all others. Abraham proved this when he was ordered by God to sacrifice his son. Nevermind the fact that God told him not to at the end and admitted He wanted to see just how much Love Abraham had for Him.
In my heart i feel that both your explanations are correct.
Thank you for sharing this.
Glad you liked it.
I've heard it put like this: "Blood shared on the battlefield is thicker than water shared in the womb" basically illustrating the bond combat soldiers have for life. It extends further to shared hardships in general. I know I feel closer to people I have suffered mutual losses with than those I did not. As well as those I have shared other life hardships with. It's an unspoken connection that builds a forever mutual respect that lasts forever.
It's why we often drift from our families. They don't live the lives we live. They don't share the hardships we faced cause they for whatever reason were not there. It also can cause a huge divide when your family members who brought hardships on themselves try to relate to your struggles that are out of your control like they have some experience.
You put this in very simple terms that i completely agree with.
