Bandai Namco has been kinda falling behind lately so it's not surprising they are doing this out of desperation
Which makes me wonder why these companies go down the 'diversity' road, knowing what happens to all those that come before them.
Why not go the other way? Might end up being record sales for you.
Case in point, Morgan Wallen. Young, upcoming country artist, on a 3 day bender is over heard calling his white friend the N word. JUST released a highly appraised double album. Instantaneously cancelled, everywhere.Record label even suspends his contract.
Next day, said double album goes to #1. Stays there for something like 11 weeks. Just completely smashes ALL records by ANY country artist ever ; in less than 3 months.
Currently, his reigns have been loosened. He announced he's headlining some festival, and having 2 other concerts for himself ; all 3 sell out in hours.
There's a reason they say "get woke, go broke". Like, these companies WANT to tank? I don't get it
And plus now, he has developed natural immunity to the cancelvirus. He can do whatever he wants, and just say “Eff you, cancelvirus, I’m immune to you. You don’t affect me at all anymore. And you know this. Bitch.”
lol. Yea we love him too. The wife actually started following him after seeing a clip of him on the Voice I think? So when I heard "Up Down" for the first time she was like " Fuck yea ".
Side note. Have you checked out Hardy? He writes a lot of tunes with / for Wallen and others. "SImple" by Florida Georgia Line and "God's Country" by Blake Shelton are a couple examples. He's got his own stuff too, he and Wallen are the top favourites in our house.
Yes, Hardy, both as a songwriter and more recently, a singer, has cranked out some great songs. He's got a few tracks flagged "Explicit" for unnecessary language, which is becoming a tacky and tiresome trend in country music - but otherwise, yes, I'm a fan.
Other country favorites in our household recently are:
Parker McCollum, who has deservedly started getting a lot of play on the radio. He's a real talent.
Ben Johnson, who I don't recall hear on the radio at all, which is a dang shame, as his 2020 album Bring Me Home is full of should-be hits.
Larry Fleet - his new album is great.
Other recent favorites, none of whom I know too much about beyond their recent albums, are Josh Kerr, Jamison Rodgers, Ian Munsick, Logan Mize, Steep Canyon Rangers...
of all the thousands of get woke go broke stories you could break out - this is the one you chose? its not even about a wokester, and confirms lefty stereotypes.
That's what I'm saying. If it were up to the left, Wallen would be drug out into the streets and shot. The non left, put the kid on a pedestal and made sure the record industry knows where the people who are actually BUYING the music and actually supporting the artists stand.

McCollum I've heard of, the rest, I will be checking out. Thank you for point in their directions.
