Predictive programming. They want depressed and evil thoughts and emotions in everyones heads.

All their shows and movies are not simply bad to watch, they are showing their evil plans in movies.

Spiritual war. "We showed you what we are doing and you accepted it, so you gave your assent to it"

Everything comes down to choice.
