Exactly. The FBI will be too busy holding the hands of traumatized school board members. They won't have time to go after illicit ham radio operators.

You get caught by HAM operators going on a “fox hunt”. Takes longer for them to decide to take you down than it takes to find you. Unless it’s an obnoxious jerk, the person will get plenty warning of what they are doing wrong. HAM’s are good folks and I would predict anyone that keys down looking for help will get nothing but professional direction and leave not even knowing they broke the law.
