The perp was under police custody when he was kicked in the head. So, the husband committed assault, too, right in front of the cop. Cop did the right thing, as there were multiple recordings of what happened. I wouldn't expect a cop to risk losing his job by not arresting the husband, as well.
That being said, I would've done the same thing, only I wouldn't have stopped with just one kick. I would've stomped that fool into the tile, or until getting tased by the cop. Then, while I'm in jail, "coincidentally," with the perp, I'd continue the assault. Give that fucking asshole a life long daily reminder of why it pays to NOT be a fucking pervert.
But I stand by my assessment. Cop did the right thing. Vigilante justice committed in front of an LEO is just plain stupid.

I just hope the father demands a trial by jury of his peers. Most of us with wives and children couldn't possibly convict him.
