Gen X here. I was in gifted programs in elementary school and I can say without a doubt, that nearly EVERY child would benefit from the type of education I received in my formative years.
Frequent field trips to museums and outdoor nature hikes. We worked in groups on weeks long projects, including designing board games and model rocketry. We even went to the State Capitol and observed the legislative process and met the Governor.
Math, language and creative arts have always come easy to me, but the extra-curricular activities are what shaped me and I credit them for my independence and common sense.
I second this! I did large, time consuming projects that challenged me to look deeper. Our program was called "Challenge" & that is exactly what it did. I specifically recall doing a research project on DNA in the 5th grade. I remembered all of it when I became pregnant with twins and I'm still drawing on the knowledge at 45 years old in the middle of a "pandemic" with pushback for the "vaccine"....it taught me to always dig deeper. I see why they want to cancel this behavior, because most of us that benefited from those programs will dig deeper and they want unquestioned compliance.
EVERY school age child needs to be educated as if they were gifted. Because they are gifted with talents and potential that remains untapped because they are force fed common core garbage.
Can't have good education. They might take off their face diaper.
lol, very true.
Then the parents find out what those programs were and try their best to do it themselves. I get why plenty of parents just can not home school. But these programs that the parents do can be beneficial especially if it is simple like going to a museum
This is why I’m going to homeschool my future kids. In a few years, I plan on opening an early education homeschool co-op in my own home and earning a salary that way.
