I think it has more to do with the drop in sunshine/vitamin D, than the cold weather.

Less vitamin D and also being inside more (most infections happen in the home). Cold weather itself has nothing to do with it. Not putting on your hat and your mom telling you you'll catch a cold was always a wives tale.

Has nothing to do with cold weather…rather the lack of sunshine in winter and low vitamin D levels. Sunshine = Vitamin D.

not directly, but colder weather is typically less humid weather. and humidity does matter.
