Little Debbie cakes were out at my store last week. I told someone that it looked like Little Debbie had died. She laughed and told me that she was preparing to restock the shelves, as the cakes were on sale and sold out quicker.
Walmart has been out of the canned cat food that our cats like for months, but the grocery store always has plenty. If Walmart would simply raise their prices, they wouldn't run out so fast. :)
I live in a heavy populated area with one of the most used seaports around. My local Walmart has been poorly stocked, prices have risen, some items like Walmart brand frozen fries have not been available for well over a month and I go pretty regularly.
Just because it hasn't come to you yet doesn't mean you shouldn't take precautions just in case...while you can.
If you buy just a little more each week of your favorites, it trains the computer algorithms to increase the stock levels. I've tried it, and it actually works at my store. There are a couple of items that they used to run out of every week. I bought lots every week, whether I needed them or not, and now they have plenty. Now I can stock up more quickly.
Several years ago, I went to our local Walmart to buy a bag of onions. They didn't have a single onion of any kind in the store. That's just plain mismanagement. You don't run out of the main items. It would be like a convenience store running out of cigarettes, beer, candy bars, and scratch-off tickets.
The Walmart in my town has been low on a lot of stuff for a good number of years. It's not new.
BTW, that new bacon flavor Spam is pretty good. I sliced and fried some to go with my eggs, and it was good. I've also made sandwiches with it. It's a little pricey, but our local grocery store still has it on sale, and it lasts forever. So it's a good item to stockpile. I buy some every time I go to the store.
Just buy some extras every time you shop, and it adds up fast.
Another hint: mice can't get into glass canning jars.
Our shell salad was made with tuna in place of spam when I was a kid in the 70s. I like the little shells for salads, I prefer them over macaroni and keep them on hand , especially during summer.
Nuts and seeds, and lots of beans. Some beans go really good with rice for a pretty good meal when you're starving.
These have a good shelf-life. Not apocalypse level shelf life, but it's a start.
Soup is good for a nice long while, too. Chicken noodle soup. Chicken with vegetables or whatever meat/vegetables you prefer. I'm sure there's a soup for whatever you desire. I hope you don't have a gluten allergy when it comes to soup. 😐
Plenty of Yard Bird.
There hasn't been any problems

Yeah we like to joke, but if it comes it'll come hard

Doesn't look too bad. Just get some chicken.

Bacon flavored spam? I don't eat spam at all, I think it's gross but I'm strangely intrigued.
Spam is pork. It's good. I like it even better fried. It lasts forever, which makes it an ideal protein to stockpile (in addition to your beans).
It's probably a good idea to have some on hand.

No issues here. In fact some stuff we were not getting at the height of the bullshit is back in the shelves.
Stores in New York are somewhat depleted too.
The only thing I can’t find is Taco Bell fire sauce
Can any frens suggest sources of good protein or that has a LONG shelf life?
Peanut butter! :)

That's completely normal for Walmarts everywhere. Has been for years.
Go look at a mid-tier grocery store and see if you have shortages.
