It’s mind blowing. EMTs are quite often the ones who save lives so the doctors and nurses have something to work with at the hospital. It is often dangerous work, and thankless. They should be paid twice what they’re paid, AT LEAST.
Most firefighters make 6 figures and have second jobs due to their Cush schedule. I’ve worked for government for 22 years and am privy to the salary schedules.
So is anyone who knows how to view open records but your not wrong... Firefighter/emts in my metro-ish area make great money and like you said probably work part time at another department. Crazy. I understand rual area low pay though
Yeah, it is. EMTs make very little where I live. Never understood that.

Yeah EMTs need to be paid more. Absolutely no doubt about that
In my area most responders are paramedics, a much higher skill set. They do stuff nurses aren't allowed to do.
EMTs, Firefighters (if paid at all), Police. All low paid. Sometimes have decent pensions or benefits (usually only in corrupt cities).
That's how corruption spreads so easily. Tempt low-paid police officers or public service with big bucks and they will cave to any agenda.

Most in the southern US, especially rural, are volunteer and make $0.
Can’t anyone go online and see what gov worker make?

What dept or agency of govt gives you such broad visibility?
Most FF’s are on city/county/commonwealth payrolls.
Your comment seems incredibly generalized and does not align at all to anything in my area.
Depends on where you live. Where I live police make about 100K not counting overtime. Small town, low risk.
