“Employees who are unable to be vaccinated due to a disability or sincerely held religious belief must submit an accommodation request,” Boeing stated. Any employee granted such an exemption will have to “undergo frequent testing and be ready to present a negative test result upon request.”
If you work for Boeing, then submit a religious exemption request. If they turn it down, then re-submit it along with copies of recent court orders by Federal judges... and the promise that this will result in court challenge and a lawsuit if the exemption is not approved by the company.
Regarding the "undergo frequent testing"... just how frequent is that? I know major corporations better than most. They might require testing every week for the first 4 or 5 weeks, then it will become once every few weeks, then once a month at most, then hardly ever seen again. As the political winds change, so will their "frequent testing".
So far as "presenting a negative test result upon request"... that's pretty easy to achieve. Use your brain. Think of the best ways to use their exact wording and exact policy against them. :>)
Most of all, don't give in to it. My bet is that, before end of December, Boeing will retract their stupid policy.
My husband is in senior management at Boeing. They have had a system in place for months to track voluntary vax status. Since vaccinated people LOVE to flaunt their special status, many employees have already updated their records. So Boeing Leadership has a pretty good idea what percentage of their workforce is unvaccinated. They were very vague about what happens should folks choose not to get the vax. These are well paid, well educated professionals, many of them will not go quietly into the night. They have been dealing with workforce issues for several years already. This should be very interesting.
My hubby not senior management, but he is a well paid, highly educated subject matter expert on an important government project. So I do not think he or his teammates will go quietly into the night. I would hope that Boeing would not allow that, as I'm sure it will shut that project down. Should be interesting. I'm fired up and pissed off today - time to go for a walk!
I was up all night, praying, crying, raging. I finally got a hold of myself. My husband will not get vaccinated. Gratefully, our family is grown and our house is paid off. Best of luck to your family. These are difficult times 😕
Yah, I just don't see how Boeing could really afford to lose the brainpower that they employ. It's such a huge company. We're in Texas, so we have a little protection for now, but today's email assured us that the federal EO overrides the state EO and therefore we need to plan on getting vaccinated ASAP. Not to change the subject - but have you ever looked at the Boeing logo?
I ended up having a great day, ty fren. Everything is going to be just fine.
