It's like he doesn't realize they have a history of using troops like cannon fodder and would fight to deny surviving troops financial aid saying it was their fault or happened off job or something. People exposed to agent orange got cancer and they would refuse to pay for anything until they can prove it was because service. They would constantly send people to their death in even recent wars.

Yep... I just sorta gave up talking about any of it with him. I don't shy away from it if he brings it up, but just really pointless.
