Because the artist will get a cut and Apple will have to give it to him. Those commie hipsters will see from my history that I haven’t purchased anything from the iTunes Store ever... except this one song. Might even give some love to Tom McDonald, whom I’ve already purchased CDs directly from.
Getting Tom's two new albums was the first time I've bought new music since icky thump. That was released in 2007 lol.
I'm not even into rap.
The hipsters don't care about your history. You're giving them money. The artist gets the least amount of payout from Apple music vs their other merch. Best to do is buy directly from the artist. You're only helping Apple.
It’s okay, don’t worry about it. If my purchase helps keep this track at number one for another day then my $.99 was well spent. I understand the artist gets the least amount... I work in the entertainment industry, I know full well how the gears grind.
This isn’t about making Apple more powerful or wealthy. It’s about showing “Dominion” the truth of their algorithm. Ultimately they see the truth in the numbers. What you yourself are encouraging amounts to doing nothing: “why are you voting, your vote doesn’t matter.”
You do you, don’t worry about me fren. I’ll throw a dollar directly to the artist too if it helps you sleep better at night.
