It's the Nicotine...!
Molecules don’t cause addiction, people cause addiction.
If a substance causes you to suffer when stopped, then it is addictive. It's not like video game or porn addictions where you are just trying to fill in gaps of time or have some entertainment; you suffer physical effects from withdrawal.
I actually quit chewing tobacco for 6 months one time and about 2 years the 2nd time. The side affects thing is largely a lie, I never experienced any other than occasionally wanting it badly.
I think most addiction is habit oriented more than it is physiological. Random Fact: Did you know that it is actually part of Big Tobacco propaganda to make it seem like quitting is hard? There is evidence eating cheese is just as addictive as tobacco.
Also random fact: Nicotine when used properly has some incredibly good health benefits (Not talking about tobacco, talking about nicotine itself)
The addiction thing is usually a combination of psychological and physiological. There IS a chemical factor when you talk about certain types of nicotine products. For example, cigarettes are horrible for you. All of the additives in cigarettes are what cause cancer, addiction, etc. This is true of lower quality chewing tobacco, dip, etc. Basically the stuff poor people buy because it "helps with anxiety and stress." On the other hand, if you only use really high quality pure tobacco products with zero additives (High quality cigars and cigar derivatives, pure chewing tobacco, pipe tobacco, etc.) the adverse health effects are minimal.
Multiple studies have shown that smoking 3-5 average sized cigars a week (Robusto sized since the studies are based in the US most of the time) has basically zero relevance on cancer rates. In fact, those same studies typically show there are legitimate health benefits to the habit, as you pointed out, ranging from improved neurological functions and memory, to increased blood flow and muscle growth, to accelerated metabolism (weight loss), to stimulated hair growth (fight male pattern baldness and thickens hair in most people).
I honestly have no idea where he ranks in the whole cabal part of things, but Winston Churchill is probably the best example of this. Dude chain smoked extra large cigars 24/7 to the point he'd go through 20-30 a day and lived to be in his 90s with zero health problems other than the fact he was obese because he also ate like a freaking pig.
I didn't realize Churchill smoked that much. Damn. But yeah good response that makes sense!
If you want to prescribe a fantasy based definition and assume that it’s actually true, not just a figment of your subjective experience, then go right ahead. Feel free to do that with all your concepts. Thats what everyone else does anyone so you’ll be in plentiful company. Meanwhile, when I stopped smoking cigarettes I didn’t suffer, so I guess your definition is immediately invalidated. You literally said to me ‘if it causes you to suffer’, well it didn’t.
I don't know. I suffer without. People are different. Wired differently.
Like how some people are more prone to addictive personality and other's are not. No 2 people are the same.
I think the major resentment I’m having with communication these days, is that people refer to these abstract concepts, with zero underlying content, and just expect the other person to act as if something was actually said, as if their comment has any objective accuracy or value. Like ‘wired’, ‘wired differently’, ‘personality’, ‘addictive personality’, ‘prone to addictive personality’. Literally every man and their dog thinks they can throw around these concepts, without any deep thinking about the topics whatsoever. Please don’t take it personally.
Well I am no stranger to addiction. Mine comes from personal experience. I know others who have been put in the same situation as me, where it doesn't effect them the same. They don't wake up with the same need that I have woken up with. That is what I am referring to.
I have seen others walk away like it was nothing, while it's a huge struggle for me.
"fantasy based definition"
I guess crippling headaches and nausea that makes it extremely hard to quit smoking, or the incredibly dangerous problems that quitting alcohol cold turkey causes due to the nature of beta blockers, are just "fantasy based"
Ahh, fucking retards. Even we have this kind.
The truth means nothing to the corrupt.
Until 1987 doctors didn't use anesthesia on babies during surgery because they didn't think babies could feel pain. BABIES.
Trust "the science"!
Exactly. Son born in 1990 and I was shocked when they asked me if I wanted them to administer localized pain anesthetic during the circumcision. WTF. There’s an option?! Sick fucks.
cough cough
Smoooooooth

Im pretty sure im addicted
Testifying in front of who?? The very Congress who most likely owned stock in all the Tabaco companies?
hardest drug i have ever tried to stop
It's the way they agreed to pay the damages. With bonds that paid out interest taken from future earnings.
Just goes to prove that LYING to Congress UNDER OATH has NO penalties whatsoever!
Thats because the Congress most likely owned a bunch of Tabaco stock!
Just like Pfizer is in the Top 10 (#6) investments made by the Congress today.
What a rotten government we have!
If they had todays control, everyone saying smoking causes cancer would be depersoned for spreading medical misinformation, and the merits and risks of lowering mandatory smoking age for toddlers being lowered to birth would be the medias debated issue.
