Hackers from Anonymous told The NYT they had created fake accounts on Trump’s Truth Social site.
What the fuck is a hacker from anonymous? This is the first clue that there is no source for this story
Former President Donald Trump’s upcoming social-media site, Truth Social, was hacked just a few hours after the announcement of its launch.
Even they realise it doesn't exist and yet they claim it was hacked.
TMTG said that the site would open to invitees in November and to the public in the first quarter of 2022. The app is currently available for pre-order in Apple’s App Store, and people are able to join a waiting list.
That alone was enough for Anonymous hackers to get access to the prerelease version of the Twitter-like app, Aubrey Cottle, a hacker affiliated with Anonymous, told The Times.
So the annoucement that you can join a waiting list was enough to get access to pre-release version of the app and hack it? Do these "hackers" even understand that a social media app requires a backend that does not even exist yet? Even if we assume they somehow downloaded a "prerelease version of the Twitter-like app" ?
The publication said it viewed screenshots verifying the hackers’ claims, and reported that hackers gained access within two hours of Trump announcing the site.
So the ONLY verification for this story, even according to the publication is viewing screenshots. Do they realise how easy it is to create a "screenshot" of pretty much anything you want, let alone something that is "twitter-like" by manipulating HTML using inspect element?
The last part is a nail in the coffin for this disgrace of a fake news by business insider.

"Anonymous" is a group of hackers wearing the Guy Fawkes mask. They're more of a hacktivist group but protesting for the wrong reasons.

Ah that - the deep state hackers. Of course, they are the only ones who would do something dumb like this. kek
