White guilt is something invented by hillary clinton to further divide us. Reparation for black people should have happened when slavery ended. It didn't. What I know is that Jesus died for our sins, and there is absolutely nothing you can compare to that from this world that even comes close. Despite what the idiot liberals want to brainwash you with, black people have all the same rights today as white people (if not more) and everyone else in America. The opportunity is there if you want to work for it. Don't forget about affirmative action - black people will get hired at some places to meet a quota whether they're qualified or not. Not to mention things like the United Negro College Fund - what do you think would happen if I started a charity called the United Caucasian College Fund? People would lose their damn minds calling me a racist. How about we start the White Lives Matter movement? How do you think that would go over? You've got your reparations already, trust me.
And no, we did not see millions of blacks enslaved, nobody who actually saw that with their own eyes is still alive. It's been over 150 years. We know it happened, and we also know that America is where it stopped. There are actual slaves and slavery going on in Africa right now. I wish everyone who states that reparations are a good thing would go over there and do something about it. There is slavery happening NOW in the world - what are you doing to help put a stop to that?
Jesus died for OUR sins, not for what Adam & Eve did. And that's not a matter of guilt, it's a matter of faith - if you believe in Jesus, and accept Him into your heart, then you can take comfort in knowing you are forgiven for your sins. I don't know about you, but I rejoice in that rather than feeling guilty.
I personally have a hard time with the concept of white guilt because I can honestly say my family had absolutely nothing to do with slavery. My mom and dad came here from Europe in 1956 and 1972, respectively. My bloodline stems from Yugoslavia and Germany. Nobody in my family ever owned a slave - never. Why on earth do I owe black people money for what people in America did back then? Not all white people have a responsible blood line. And so, as with everything else, you can't just say "all white people" or "all black people" about anything. If your great great great grand dad owned slaves and you feel bad about that, that's your right - do what you need to do in order to feel better about it. But it's not right or fair to put that on ALL white people, because some of us honestly had nothing to do with it. Think about the boom of immigration in the 1920s to this country from Europe alone - LOTS of white people are in the same boat I am, with no ties to slavery in their bloodline.
And why do we only blame white people for slavery? Was it not the black people of Africa who sold those slaves to whitey?? Had those black people told the white people to fuck off or killed them or did something to stop it, slavery wouldn't have happened. So let's keep that in mind as well, along with how many white people died in the civil war AND in the civil rights movement defending the rights of black men and women to be free.
Not to mention - none of the black people who live now were ever tortured or enslaved like their own ancestors were. It seems to me that the idea of reparations should be highly insulting for an honest black person - what price would you set for the life of a slave and all their hard work, being whipped, starved and generally treated like shit their whole lives. Is there an amount of money that would make something like that OK? There isn't. There is no amount of money that would ever make up for that atrocity. I just think the best we can do now is treat each other with respect, realize that we are all God's children, and try to live in peace with one another. Things like "white guilt" are there to divide us and cause tension where there just doesn't need to be.
Yes, he died for us as an act of Grace and mercy.
I mean, you're obviously brainwashed.
Europeans went to Africa and bought African slaves from African slavers. The only "responsible" party is the African nations enslaving each other (which they still do today - Kony 2012).
Said African, not black. But your racism is leaking.
You're right about that.
