Correct. Jesus did not green light the consumption of pork. He was emphasizing that someone eating pork is not as bad as someone spewing vitriol in His Name. Other people like to quote Peter's dream as though it was a green light and even that does not hold up to scrutiny.
God specifically named what animals can be consumed. And researching the effects of long term pork use isn't that hard, yet people don't want to because it means having to give up pork despite the fact that ALL of the alternatives are better in every single way.
And He never did. They use Paulisms and obscure quotes to prove their point, but it's about as solid proof as claiming the planes on 9/11 were holograms... Unless Christ specifically articulated that pork was on the menu, He did not say it.
I haven't eaten pork since HS (15 years ago) when a very devout Christian friend of mine told she doesn't because the Bible tells us not to.
Although many Christians will argue Jesus made it legal, I avoid it. It is indeed a filthy animal.
Pet pigs fed good food and not forced to live in their own filth without relief, are not filthy animals.
When they argue Jesus made it legal, they inaccurate comprehension of the scriptures. We have health laws for a reason.
I have not eaten pork for years.
