I served 24 years and constantly bucked the system to uphold what was right, whether for myself or one of my men. I didn't make the "good ol boys club" for doing it, and it cost me a senior promotion in rank and positions. My men always knew at the end of the day that 'ol Sarge would take a flamethrower to the face for them before I'd allow them to be some assholes scapegoat. All this with a wife and 3 kids raised during that time.
Sacrificing integrity and honor for a crust of bread as an excuse will gain no sympathy here.
You have chosen your path. Walk it. Own it. Don't piss and moan for understanding.
What makes you think I don’t? Do it every day brother….
Just because I chose to take the placebo vaccine negates the fact that I raise hell about it all day? Trust me, I don’t like the fact I took it and was forced to take it (yes it is very much forced). But god damn you people are so fucking predictable…. “Back in my day i’d have knocked that CO out for even looking at me.” But it’s always the ones drawing a pension that are first to run their mouths. Have you shown your support by turning your pension down yet like you’re expecting me to?
To answer your question: They didnt try this BS when I was in except for the Anthrax which I flatly refused. They threatened me, as expected they would. Long story short, I was legally right, they were wrong, stayed in charge of 485 men and women, and I still deployed many times over never got the Anthrax.
Takes 2 things to tell them to get fucked: 1) Balls to do it, 2) knowing what the Hell you're talking about when you tell them to shove it up their ass. Leave no room for wiggle on their end while your end is tighter than a frog's ass. This is where knowing the Regulations, both Military and Civilian (OSHA, specifically) comes into play. Just because we wore the uniform does NOT mean we had our God given rights removed as reinforced by the Bill of Rights.
Forcing a military member to get an experimental drug/vax is an unlawful order and if those of you making excuses knew this, there'd be a hell of a lot less of this BS flying around. Our Oath is to the US Constitution, not goddamn Big Pharma and those suckin their dicks for kick-backs and cushy jobs.
Afterword: the "back in my day...." comment was a childish assumption. I would never strike an officer or anyone else UNLESS they initiated contact. It's called respect for the rank, even if you dont have respect for the man wearing it.
As for the military pension, it was never once in the skillet. However, I did transition directly back into working for the military as a DoD contractor and I gotta say, the pay and benefits ain't nothing to sneeze at. Straight up told my lead that if the Company ever says we have to get this goddamn thing, he'd better have paperwork to fire me because I will not be getting jabbed by these sadistic MFers, ever. He gave me a long look and just said, "Noted". So yeh, in this aspect I'd be giving up a second pension, 401k, additional healthcare, dental, optometry, 2 weeks paid leave/yr, and a job I love. BUT, like in the military, I know my shit, do top work, and am one of 2 trainers for the work we do for the company. Pretty sure I aint goin anywhere and, if it did, ciest la vie....fuck'em...their loss would be bigger than mine in the long run.
