I work for a giant supply chain, and I will never name the supply chain I work for. It is competitive and it is successful, that is all I will say to avoid doxxing myself.
First off, I can tell you confidently the WORKERS are majority ANTI-VAX, and overwhelmingly anti vax. I am a manager so I know this information first hand (I should not know this information, but forced to ask employees. If I trust them, I say good job when they say no. If I don’t trust them, I say it’s your choice just doing my job).
But my confusion is the fact the overtime here is absolutely bonkers and the main reason people quit here because of the mandatory overtime. We are never out of work, and in fact we are getting more work then ever. I just am very confused here on the front lines.
Please offer me perspective.
Personally have not been in a store with empty shelves. Once the initial shock from the lockdowns were overcome the stores where I live have been well stocked. They do seem to try pushing prices up, but then run “sales” to clear out inventory. One local store has nearly a full aisle of clearance items all the time.
There seems to be a concerted effort to drive panic buying, not sure why. A couple months ago I would have said it was to feed the illusion we’re in a national emergency. But stadiums filled with nearly 100,000 fans kind of cut the legs out from under the narrative.
Maybe it will force business in the U.S. to open and start manufacturing here while breaking our addiction to cheap crap made in China with child/slave/underpaid labor and filled/made with poisons while disregarding the specifications and regulations. We can’t do it unless our backs are against the wall and they will be soon.
When you put out a “help wanted” ad, you are asking for help.
You don’t shit on people who help you, by demanding that they work OVER time.
FULL time is more than enough to ask from “the help”. OVER time is unreasonable.
It turns out, most of “the help” isn’t really interested in working themselves to death just to make some absentee shareholders happy.
You sound like a union member
Yes i am married
Nah.we like money
Our shelves aren't bare, bit certain sections of every store aisle are empty. It's cyclical, too. On week it may be paper products, the next maybe meats, the following week may be frozen goods, etc. But, WE ARE OPEN FOR BUSINESS.
No time like the present to move down here if you're looking for respite from the Looney Left, looking for work, etc.
