Early on in the rush to jab people, Las Vegas was offering a limo ride to a "club" (or as Al Bundy would call it a "nudie bar") where you would get free booze and a free lap dance. And don't forget all the states that did a "lottery" for college tuition and cash prizes. Those lotteries reminded me of the short story by Shirley Jackson.
