It was an incredibly risky and silly thing to do to take the stand when he had the case in the bag on a silver platter - now he only has to use one wrong word and the prosecution and go for the jugular and snatch victory form the jaws of defeat.

I’m uncertain as to why Kyle was there testifying. The defense’s strategy seems to aim for full acquittal because there were zero objections from the defense as prosecutors keep badging and droning on Kyle. It was incredibly risky.
The prosecutors already know that the media is on their side, hence the drama, thinking even being disbarred is worth it. Probably paid by Soros anyway. They want the mistrial.
As expected, a USAtoday opinion piece already painted Kyle as an actor and should be awarded for his acting performance. It even said those tears are crocodile tears during the PTSD moment.
My guess is that they're desperate for a Mistrial. The defense has a Motion for Mistrial with Prejudice in now. They can't recharge Kyle if he's found innocent nor if the judge tosses the case. Instead, they've probably taken a payoff from Soros and Dirty Lawyers who are going to run civil cases afterwards. But, if there's a Not Guikty verdict, civil cases are defunct.
They need the Mistrial. The best action the Judge can take is the silence them, let the jury rule Not Guilty, and screw over the Soros money. Then, those lawyers know they'll die for their failures.
