I actually don’t buy into this line of thinking at all. This is witch hunt territory. Dudes a commie and that is scummy enough for me to think he sucks. However, I listen to a wide range of music while working. One band I listen to occasionally is Slayer. They have imagery like demons and pentagrams and shit. The lead singer is also a very devout Catholic and religious guy. He has been interviewed where he has said he feels the lyrics are about reality, good vs evil.
Christians have no business flaunting satanic imagery. Wearing a pentagram doesn't make one a satanist per se, I'll give you that. But it does associate you with darkness.
Darkness does not equate evil. God made heroes out of many unsavory people. Also people supposedly walking in light have committed more evil than some silly band.
Things are not black and white. Never were. What matters is actions and intentions.
I guess so but we arent talking about mother theresa here this guy was a loser on so many levels which makes me think this was more than a casual association with satan
Is dark vs light reality? Should it only be discussed on Sundays? Can it be shown or sung about? If I feel a certain way and paint something dark, am I that darkness? I do not believe this line of thinking.
I love God. I love Jesus. I feel Jesus teachings, and really, the 10 commandments, are the way.
I have been through and seen a lot of bad things, and if I draw, paint, sing about bad things, it doesn’t mean I embrace it.
Idk man. There's a difference between, say, Paradise Lost, and Marina Abramovic hosting parties where the food looks like people. "It's art, bro" isn't an excuse for wearing a mask with overtly satanic symbolism
one can portray the dark contours of the soul and the evil forces that plague our reality and be far from promoting any of it. Check Alice Cooper, devout Christian and deacon at his little Baptist church. But on stage he loves horror, twisted humor and shock because it can entertain and get one thinking.
Araya is actually pretty based. Most of their lyrics are biblical or hell based but there has been little promotion of satanism. Most songs were musical versions of Bosch paintings.

Look further into Mother T - may not be the saint you thought.
I'm advocating more in general not to bye-cep.

Yeah, and Slayer makes big bucks marketing evil and it’s demonic symbology to unwitting youth. What a devout Catholic/ s
