The heart הַלֵּ֛ב (hal·lêḇ) Article | Noun - masculine singular Strong's 3820: The heart, the feelings, the will, the intellect, centre
Words are always confusing. Perhaps it means "will" or "intellect"? That would be "mind stuff", eh?
Rest in your heart and you'll find truth. Use your mind, and your wheels will spin endlessly. Simple guidance.
Proverbs 4:4
He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
Proverbs 28:26
He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Here's hoping you're delivered friend. It's a living experience here and now. It's not something that happens in the illusory future, or after the body "dies".
"Heaven" is a state of being, not a "place" that's "out there" somewhere. You can either live it, or think about it. The two options are light years apart.
The kingdom of heaven is within. That's best referenced by us brainwashed humans as "within the heart space" as a feeling space - not the actual physical heart organ. It's a full sense of PRESENCE.
Everything "out there" or "elsewhere" - other places, other times, other things - all is 100% mind-based deception.
Everything "within" is where the truth lies. No words or thoughts can explain it.
What tricks you? What deceives you? Satan???? or perhaps, the thoughts flowing your mind that you call "my thoughts"? Those self-same "my thoughts" that you cannot prevent from coming? Ever wonder why you can't stop "your own thoughts" from coming?
Non-practical, monkey-mind thinking, doubting, worrying, fearing, etc. is "satan". It's a metaphor.
But I understand, this clashes with mainstream Christian beliefs. Is there any chance the cabal twisted and distorted the meanings of words? Just like they twisted and distorted everything else in this world?
I wish you well friend. I love spirituality and I'm perfectly comfortable with Christians that are willing to update their understandings, which will happen in the coming years. I love scripture, but I read it by the esoteric understanding, not the exoteric. There's a purpose for both. The esoteric eliminates past/future and literal, historic interpretation. As "The word" is indeed "Living" -- living here and now, in you, with you, as you.
All you really need is communion with God -- The Greatest Commandment -- as clearly expressed by Jesus. If you're not in communion with God, "all else that follows" is distorted and misunderstood by the mumbling monkey-mind thought-stream that you have no control over.
Communion is the same thing as "Presence", or "Meditation" or "Zen". They all MEAN the same thing, regardless of the myriad of misunderstandings that prevail in the world. Whichever word you choose, it isn't something you "do". It's the release, the surrender of "my will" that brings this state of being to the forefront. As the word "Communion" suggests, when perfected, a "union" occurs and there's no need to "try" to "commune" any longer. It becomes your natural way of being.
It's that easy. Then you don't have to play games with trying to interpret verses that have gone through dozens, if not hundreds of re-interpretations over the centuries.
20 years ago you couldn't get me near a bible. I was thoroughly convinced "eternity in hell" was ludicrous (and I still am). It wasn't until I did my own research and found that the Greek word interpreted as "eternity" was "aEONious". Not to mention, "eternity" means "having no ending and no beginning". It's a horrific and deliberate mistranslation that makes no sense any way you slice it (and no, it doesn't translate to "everlasting" either - that's just another desperate attempt to deceive). As you can see in the word "aEONious" is where our English word "Eon" derives. Where "Eon" means - a long, undetermined period of time. Perfectly logical now.
Finally I found something that made sense. And it was this realization that reopened scripture for me. Since then, I've found dozens upon dozens of key Christian words that meant one thing 2000 years ago, but mean an entirely different thing today. Strong's Concordance was a true "God send" for me!
But hey, I get it, it's a big turn off when somebody "corrects" you. I didn't particularly find yours helpful, which is why I'm writing this lengthy missive, and I'm sure you won't like mine. But take it as you will. I've debated dozens of Christians since that time. All but 2 have chosen to cling to their "modern definitions" and refused to accept any possibility that the 2000-year old definitions were correct (all available in Strong's concordance BTW).
Why? The most common excuse given is; "Some learned Christian historian or theologian would have long since pointed it out". Sounds a lot like the normies out there who refuse to see what's happening in our world this moment - name your topic - vaccines, Biden, CRT, inflation, election fraud, Russia Russia Russia --- right? There's some blockage in consciousness. And I believe that blockage is "I know I'm right and I have the truth because the authorities/experts say so". It's a blinding position to hold.
I say, "trust nobody, verify everything for yourself. This I have done to a greater extent than anybody I know. And what have I found? We've been lied to about EVERYTHING. And that includes many mainstream Christian interpretations and beliefs. Not all, but many. You can't spread a lie without sprinking it with truths... right?
So be it. In the end, I wish you well and hope you'll rethink your desire to correct people. What I share is simple. Presence/Communion is the ONLY WAY forward. The simplest way to understand this is to place your attention on your heart (or breath). Which is precisely what Jesus was sharing with the "Greatest Commandment" when he said "Love God with all your heart, mind and soul" --- he meant 24x7x365. But alas, I've heard from so many Christians that this position is ridiculous and impossible to achieve.
And I ask, "is it...is it really? Have you tried?"
Mark 4:12 - That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
Primary definition of the word "Sin" 2000 years ago ---- "To miss the mark".
And what IS the "mark"? ---> Presence/Communion/Zen/Meditation. Whatever you like to call it, this "STATE OF BEING" can only be achieved when your attention is no longer on the incessant thought-stream (satan) that is really NOT yours.
Do you have eyes to see and ears to hear?
You can argue with me and share a thousand lines of scripture in an attempt to refute my points. Or, you could try implementing the Greatest Commandment in your life as often as you can remember to do so. If you did that for a month straight, you'd see what I'm saying and have zero desire to rebut this missive. Will you take my challenge?
Wishing you the best friend, one way or the other. We're on the same side, regardless of whether you think it's only "your way or the highway". That being said, I'm happy to answer any questions should you have any. Feel free to DM me.
May God bless you and may you see the light in this lifetime!
I don't believe in mainstream Christianity. I believe in the Bible and the Bible alone.
The primary definition of sin is "transgression of the law" or anomia (ἀνομία).
1 John 3:4
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
This is translated in Strong's Concordance as "illegality, i.e. violation of law or (genitive case) wickedness:—iniquity, × transgress(-ion of) the law, unrighteousness."

The law is plain and if everybody on this planet wrote the ten commandments on their hearts, we would have true world peace.
"Then you don't have to play games with trying to interpret verses that have gone through dozens, if not hundreds of re-interpretations over the centuries."
The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls proves the Bible has not changed for thousands of years. Also, it's worth noting an ancient copy of the Book of Enoch was recovered at the same time, a book that was removed from the canon by the Alexandrians, who rewrote the Bible into classical Greek (both Old and New Testaments) and who did change some of the Bible. The Vatican bible and all modern Bibles are based on their translations, by the way. (They forgot to remove the Book of Jude, however, which quotes directly from Enoch).
Thankfully, the original Hebrew Bible (Masoretic text) and New Testament written in Koine Greek (The Textus Receptus) survived thanks to Roman Catholic and Islamic persecution driving the Eastern Orthodox Christians from Istanbul (Constantinople) to as far away as Russia.
What convinces me of the truth of the Bible is prophecy. I took up the challenge from Yahweh as issued in Isaiah 46.
Isaiah 46:9-11
9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
11 Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.
The first 4 commandments given to Moses are how you love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. The last 6 commnandments are how you love your neighbor as yourself.
Do you try to follow all 10 of the commandments, including the 4th commandment to keep the Sabbath day(which is Saturday from sundown to sunset) holy? Or, do you believe the 10 commandments are also esoteric and of no real meaning?
Lots of words, thoughts, ideas and beliefs friend. They're extremely helpful for ORIENTING you in the correct direction (which is "WITHIN") but they all add up to exactly NADA in the grand scheme of things if you continue to ruminate over them.
"The Greatest Commandment" resolves all 700,000+ words and covers all 613 "Thou Shalts" and "Thou shalt nots" in one fell swoop.
Christianity is akin to Bhakti Yoga (love and devotion of the creator), not Jnana Yoga (intellectual pursuit using mind to negate maya duality - neti-neti). If you stick to love, prayer, reverence, devotion you're on the right track. As soon as Christians try to enter the reason/logic realm, it always falls apart, because it doesn't "hold up" as such in the first place. Christianity in particular is not about logic/reason - that's why it's called a "faith".
As such, playing the "interpretation" game is a pointless exercise. You cling to the modern, I prefer the original - and frankly, can't understand why anybody would choose the modern.
The word "sin" originates in ancient archery --- hence "miss the mark". That's the original usage, and I argue, INTENDED usage the majority of the time --- as you probably know, there were 2 dozen words translated to "sin" --- which only convolutes things even further. And even more confusing, some of these words are translated to sin in some places, but translated to something else in others. Untangling it all is an effort in futility.
But I'll give you this, once you "Miss the mark", and slip into the thinking mind, this is when the "Modern Version" of "sinning" indeed begins. It's this ORIGINAL SIN, where the mistaken identity appears as "truth", that then leads to all the "bad behavior" so noted. This is why "Know Thyself" is the core teaching in all advanced spiritual traditions. Because the "self known in the mind/thought" is not truly "thyself".
"Who Am I?" If your answer is a "thought", you have been deceived.
If you think your "mind" is where the truth lies, and that salvation comes from somebody else "out there" and further think your "heart" is some dark, demonic place of deception -- well then -- brick wall between you and I. We're light years apart and have no common ground with which to continue dialoging.
Nonetheless, I wish you all the best on your journey back home.
