We cultivate criticism and so my suggestion that you visit is valid. (Deprecation of an entire class without evidence is a lot different from criticism and that disappears fast.) We have some Catholics who can dish it out and take it, and we have occasional Catholic visitors who don't realize the former begets the latter and whose accounts self-destruct. So much of the veneer of defense does not actually say what the combatant wanted it to say that the reflexive Catholic is shocked when you hand their own words back to them. (I learned this from a 19th-century debate in which the Protestant handed back the proposition "Protestants don't have an infallible guide" by changing the subject to "Catholics" and demonstrating that the infallibility doctrine has no extant referent whatsoever, and still doesn't.)
