Pro tip: use EWG’s cleaning guides and skin deep database to check for these things in your home products. They have an app that allows you to quickly scan a barcode and see their report on what’s in the item.
They don’t have everything, but you can add products in if they are missing and make your own custom report for anything not already in the database.
So, basically, research effective homemade, holistic cleaners and make them yourself. Because I guarantee you, EVERY major and minor household, commercial, and industrial cleaner has some type of carcinogen or some other hazardous chemical(s) to humans/animals in it's formula. All you have to do is read the MSDS on them to see that for yourself.
Also, a quick scan indicator is if you look on the label and it has advice in what to do if it's ingested. If it says to contact a Poison Control hotline, it's bad for humans and animals.
