Colonoscopies are almost never performed w/o sedation. Some people take very mild sedation that can be performed outpatient in a mid-level clinic and with very quick acting and body-clearing sedation medications, and some require heavier sedation that have to be performed in an actual hospital, by an actual anesthesiologist. Both involve losing consciousness and memory. I would imagine it is very uncomfortable, and remember being very impressed that Trump both distrusted this country so much, and also loved this country that much.
I know last time I had one done, they said I kept waking up, and they gave me enough to knock out a horse. (Red hair?? There’s some people who say that’s why. I’ve even had an anesthesiologist bring it up in consult before a surgery before.) They said next time I would have to get propofol in the actual hospital, and not just what the other lesser drugs are.
Propofol is GREAT. I've had it a half dozen times now for various procedures, and each time I wake up completely alert and feeling like I slept for weeks. I completely understand why MJ abused it. If I could get it once a month I absolutely would. I feel like I've caught up on all my missed sleep every time.
Interesting, you have material on Trump avoiding this? I wasn't sure this was a normal thing

Propofol works on me like it did on Michael Jackson, except they wake me up after.
Lawl. Yea, I prefer to wake up, too!

Anesthetist - Count backwards from 10.
Me - 10...9...
Anesthetist - Bye bye.
Me - Are we gonna do this or what?
Nurse - We're done already lol.
