From what I read, it was a police raid where a flash bang was used and the deputies announcing themselves while the suspects ears were probably still ringing.
He just thought he was under attack and opened fire. The felon in possession charge stuck (up to 30 yrs) but they acquitted him on shooting a deputy in self defense.
His girlfriend was hit 10 times and the deputies weren't on the hook for that, probably because Andrew opened fire thus causing a reaction and drawing the return fire.
Yea kinda sounds like the police used excessive force here. I mean people make mistakes. And some police forces, in America at least, need to understand they are not military, or Swat. It’s that whole good cop vs bad cops stuff. A bad cop just sucks. Usually worse than the criminals. I support the police. But in all honesty, my trust in law enforcement period is waning. I trust a patriot any day.
Yeah, it’s sad but better to be judged by 12…
It used to be "to Protect and Serve" and then it became "Fighting the War on Drugs".
There was a shift from protector to combatant. I've always felt it's really important that locals police the communities they grow up in so there's a connection to the people they're working with.
I get worried when I see large numbers of police quitting/retiring causing the need for hiring surges. That's when the department gets filled with people from out of the area following the $$.
Bad cops just ruin everything. Dudes on a power trip or just not able to channel their anger constructively on a bad day.
I barely heard about this. That’s probably why though, doesn’t fit the narrative to the point where it reverses it. It’s like the Universe drops off whatever story you need to counter their dumb arguments. It’s magical like that 🤣
If we made the police departments a noble and elite profession and paid them for their skills (communication, firing accuracy, etc.), we would have better people. They put their lives on the line daily and are paid a paltry salary. This also has to do with revamping the justice system-taking criminals off the streets and making them pay the time for the crime, no matter who you are. If it is a revolving door, what is the point putting your life on the line. Corruption is very deep and must be rooted out-no tolerance for bribes and working with the criminals.
