Interesting they will release the teen’s name after family is notified. Does this mean he is illegal, so they have to locate them? Is he part of a gang? Was it legal for him to have a gun? Whose gun was it? Is the gun traceable?

Handguns are illegal for teens to possess. There isn't one State in the Union that allows handguns to be owned by anyone under 21.

They allow possession at 18 in most cases, but no concealment until 21.
