Read past the highlighted part. He states that the Flag stands for liberty and inalienable rights for all. These are Godly concepts. They are the essence of God's intentions for each of us.
Why pledge to an "image of" when we can pledge directly to the Creator?
I understand the illusion. I currently have an American Flag flying because I support what America is supposed to represent, but I pledge only to the Father. Had Flynn called everyone to pledge to the Father and not a something that is said to represent the Will of the Father we wouldn't be having this discussion at all. God does not need representation nor anything created by the hands of man.
If God is to save our nation we are to turn to him, not something that represents him. Golden Calf
Except not everyone believes that or needs to, in order to participate in the promise of America
There's no one religion in this country, thanks to the First Amendment
Patriots of all beliefs, however, can pledge allegiance to the same flag, which is allegiance to the idea of America, that people have the [God-given] right to be free to chart their own destiny as long as they don't infringe on others. The Golden Rule.
Yeah, some people simply can't wrap their wits around the fact that not everyone believes that the stuff a few men in the Middle East wrote down five thousand years ago is holy just because they said so.
Doesn't mean it can't be perfectly fine for individuals to base their own lives on. People all over the world base their lives on a variety of so-called holy books, and many seem happier for it. But forcing it on others and making them pledge to it would be sort of the opposite of what the First Amendment says.

I don't think Flynn did anything wrong here
Without God, The Father, there is NO PROMISE!
Whom made it possible?
The flag?
That's a belief based on faith, not a statement of fact based on objective, observable reality. Do you require that everyone believe as you do?
