I understand your sentiment though I disagree in this case. I don't believe there was any malice or intent to poison the well, so to speak. That shit was floating around before I got back from my Thanksgiving break. People just need to stop believing every fucking meme and image macro they see. If they did that, shit wouldn't spread. I'm personally guilty, just not in this case.
Encourage people to be more proactive with information. It's more effective than being an asshole and shutting someone down completely.
I posted about this and SPECIFICALLY told everyone to go directly to the website first because every phone number and code provided is always changed for each new step in the trial and that they hadn't officially released one for day one yet, but to go there and check monday morning.
I think some people just saw the first number and assumed that would be the same one to use, probably just an innocent mistake on their part.
"Members of the press and the public in the United States may access the live audio feed of the proceeding by calling 844-721-7237 and using access code 9991787. "
It was posted by both sides and nobody decided to check the legitimacy of it. I only found out after trying to enter the code too many times and was redirected to an actual human that told me its in-person only.
The last month of it being alive was a freedom of mind and expression that will never be the same. Now we are all free. Back then, it felt we were the only minds on the whole planet that found freedom and we were loving every second.
People are wrong all the time. Sometimes they need to be called out for it.
This is not one of those times. If anything, anons need to use this as an example as to why one's own discernment and research is critical.

The fake news came from this.
"Members of the press and the public in the United States may access the live audio feed of the proceeding by calling 844-721-7237 and using access code 9991787. "
That was for jury selection on October 21st.

I saw somebody mention this. Apparently the call in info screenshot that was making it's rounds was actually for a previous hearing and not the trial.
Somebody probably circulated it knowing people would spread it around and many probably shared thinking it was legit.
I was just thinking of voat the other day. The final run last December.
I miss Voat
